Licenses in plain words

CC0 (public domain dedication). The maker gave the sound to everyone. Use it for anything, anywhere, forever, no credit required and no permission to ask for. Most of this library is CC0.

Public domain. Nobody owns it anymore, or nobody ever did. Free for any use, no credit required.

CC BY. Free to use for anything, including work you sell, on one condition: credit the maker. The sound page gives you the exact credit line to copy. (No CC BY sounds in the starter library; when they arrive, they will be labeled.)

That is the whole shelf for now. We do not list sounds under licenses that ban commercial use or require share alike terms, because a library you have to lawyer-check per file is not a friendly library.

The maker's own license file ships with this library in its licenses folder, and every sound page links the license itself. When in doubt, the license text wins over this summary.
