How we respect creators
Every meme in this museum was made by a person. Somebody drew it, photographed it, filmed it, or shouted it into the world. We tell their stories, and this page is the promise that goes with that.
We credit the creator by name on every entry, with a link. When we know who made a meme, we say who. When nobody knows, we say that too, and we never invent an author.
We write every backstory ourselves, in our own words. The facts of a meme's life are history; the way others have written them is their work, and we do not copy it.
We never claim ownership of a meme. We do not sell them, license them, or offer them for reuse. A museum hangs pictures on the wall and writes a careful label. That is all we do.
If you made something in this museum and you want it handled differently, the takedown page is one email away. We remove first and ask questions after.
