This is the nonprofit side of Clear. Clear is being set up as a nonprofit, and this page is where the giving lives: who gets it, how it moves, and what we promise about it.
An orphanage outside of Montero, Bolivia. Our small team has worked there ourselves, in person, and the kids there are the first reason this page exists.
An orphanage outside of Alon, Ecuador. Also a place our team has worked in ourselves. No middlemen we have not met, no causes we have not seen with our own eyes.
People give a dollar at a time, usually on a page that helped them, like a recipe that saved a takeout order. Every one of those dollars goes to the orphanages. All of it.
We pay the hosting bill ourselves. The sites run on Cloudflare, we can afford Cloudflare, and so nothing is skimmed for servers, tools, or salaries at this stage. If that ever has to change, it will be written here first, in plain words, before it happens.
Because we have been there. It is easy to give to an abstraction. It is different to give to a place where you have held the kids, eaten the food, and seen exactly what a dollar does. A dollar is small almost everywhere. There, it is not small at all.
Clear is made by a small team at The Studio. The work is at clr.fm. The story of how Clear started is on the history page.
